Sometimes I have had success and other times the deer seem to eat the plants and then spit them out - just to spite me, I guess. Lantana seems to be one of the most successful plantings that I have encountered. But, if the deer are hungry there is no such thing as deer proof plantings. I love the wildlife so I certainly don't begrudge them their meals, but I also love color in the garden.....I guess that is just not meant to be.
