Dear Residents and Members of Magnolia Plantation,

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome that my staff (Cheryl Anderson, Jered Gusso, Matt Wilkes, Ben Pellicani and Emily Bender) and I have received since our move to Magnolia Plantation a few weeks ago. I have lived in Lake Mary for more than 20 years. It is my family's home, I love it here and I fully expect to spend the next 20 years at Magnolia Plantation helping golfers from all over Central Florida and around the world improve their golf skills and enjoy the game more.

As you may have seen from the bulldozers and dump trucks working on the practice range, we have big plans for the golf academy. We know that we can fulfill these plans working with Magnolia Plantation and its owner, Tim Coolican. We have been fortunate to have our academy grow every year and to have been trusted by golfers from across the globe to help them reach their potential in the game. To continue to grow we needed to find a new home that could grow with us and we have found that opportunity right here at Magnolia Plantation.

At this time we are reconfiguring the far end of the practice range with a new lesson tee, short game practice area, practice putting green and an academy headquarters building that will include offices, storage, video review rooms and a teaching/clubfitting bay. If you've been on the course in the past couple of weeks you'll also notice that there is a new green being build for the 11th hole that will shorten the hole and eliminate the forced carry over the water. In the coming weeks, the old 11th green will become part of the academy's new short game area.

Combined with our award-winning instruction staff, we are confident that once the new facilities are complete the Mike Bender Golf Academy at Magnolia Plantation will be considered among the best training facilities in the world. Everyone associated with Magnolia Plantation will benefit from the improvements as the academy will help the golf club to grow, which will allow for reinvestment throughout the entire golf property.

If you have any questions about what we are building and how it will benefit the community, please feel free to contact me or Tim Coolican at any time. I am also inviting you to a community meet and greet on November 20th at 4:30PM at the clubhouse. We expect to be able to share renderings of the proposed academy building and the new expanded practice facilities. You'll receive more details about this event, but please save the date and plan to join us.

My staff and I couldn't be more excited about our new home and we really want to meet all of our new neighbors, so please join us in a couple of weeks.
